MasterCard launches online marketplace for small businesses

MasterCard International has launched MarketAccess, an e-commerce site where the company's small business cardholders can buy and sell goods and services online.

MarketAccess offers a special service that allows companies to create a custom-built web site with an online storefront free of charge utilising technology supplied by ClickThings Inc.

The site's security features include SSL data encryption and entry of user enrolment and payment information only once instead of at each purchase. In addition the site provides cardholders with a formatted file of all purchases that can then be imported into major accounting software packages such as Quicken and Microsoft.
