There is not as much interest for broadband Internet connection outside the Swedish cities, according to a recent poll.

According to the poll, which was carried out by Demoskop on behalf of Finanstidningen, 15% of the Swedes outside the cities said that they had 'some interest' in a fast Internet connection while 39% said that they were not interested at all. According to expert opinions, this means that the will to pay for broadband services outside the cities may also be equally low, making it a better option for companies to wait some years before developing broadband services for the more rural areas.

According to Dagens Nyheter, about 57% of those living in the cities are 'interested' or 'very interested' in having a fast Internet connection.
