E-business platform provider Vitria Technology Inc has launched the Vitria Business Network, an e-business network that is designed to enable companies to participate in several trading communities by electronically linking multiple exchanges, hubs and trading partners within and across industries.
Members of the Vitria Business Network are given access to the registry of other network members, Vitria's e-business platform and a suite of services that will facilitate the identification of members and the products and services they offer. The members can then use Vitria's e-business platform to conduct business electronically with any Vitria-enabled exchange or hub.
Vitria regards this new way of inter-connecting networks of exchanges, hubs and trading partners as the third generation of e-business and calls it 'business-to-network' or B2N.
