Only 2% of businesses can be considered loyal to their current service providers while half are prime targets to switch providers due to dissatisfaction with their choice for business telecomms services, according to a new survey commissioned by network management software provider CrossKeys.
The survey, which consisted of telephone interviews with IT and telecomms directors/managers from 100 of the Times' Top 1,000 companies, showed that quality of service and not price is the deciding factor for these companies, with 86% of respondents indicating they are willing to pay for a guaranteed, better service.
The study also revealed that even if 57% of the respondents thought the Internet was slow or 'had a mind of its own', 21% felt that more business applications would move to Internet protocol networks in the next 12 months.
