The controversial music-sharing web site Napster has been allowed to continue operating pending a further ruling in the lawsuit filed by the music industry.
A US judge issued a preliminary injunction on 28 July to supersede an earlier ruling that the site must shut down.
The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) claims that Napster, a site at which people can exchange MP3 music files free of charge, is 'facilitating wholesale music piracy' according to the BBC. The service has around 20m registered users.
