Audioconferencing systems provider MultiLink has introduced Internet Meeting Manager (IMM), its new web-based software for telecomms service providers and large enterprises that allows conference calls to be booked and managed from a PC via the Internet.
To book a conference using the system, end-users navigate to their company's or service provider's IMM-equipped conferencing web site and specify the booking details. To initiate an audioconference IMM then establishes a conventional PSTN (Public Switched Telecom Network) line.
By logging on to the dedicated conference web site, call participants can view screen icons of their fellow conferees that are highlighted when they speak, and they can also use the Internet link to share and exchange data. Other features include an address book, a voting function and conference record and playback.
Availability and pricing were not revealed.
