INTELSAT launches 155Mb/s Internet satellite link between US and Brazil

INTELSAT has implemented what it claims to be the first 155Mb/s Internet satellite link between the US and Latin America.
Provided for Brazilian telecomms company Embratel, the hybrid, high-bandwidth link between the US and Brazil, over INTELSAT's 805 satellite, offers a 34Mb/s return link.
Embratel will use the link to the Internet backbone to support demand for Internet services in Brazil.
