QSI Payments and NYCE partner to develop new Internet payment product

QSI Payments Inc, a provider of Internet-based payment systems, has formed a strategic partnership with electronic payment company NYCE Corp.
The companies aim to launch a new Internet debit payment product by 2Q'2000.
Based on QSI's payment technology, the system, which is developed under the name SafeDebit, will allow consumers to pay for purchases online with funds drawn directly from their checking accounts. To enable secure purchase transactions from any PC, consumers use a CD-ROM 'card' and a personal identification number received from their financial institution.
