Following the recent release of the US Department of Commerce's new encryption regulations, Netscape Communications is offering high-grade encryption to the international users of its Netscape Communicator client software.

Previously, due to encryption restrictions, customers outside North America were limited to 56-bit (medium-grade) or 40-bit (low-grade) encryption software, but can now upgrade to 128-bit security, which will make online shopping safer, allow online banking and bill paying on web sites requiring high-grade encryption and improve the security of encrypted mails.

The 128-bit encryption browsers can be downloaded for free at http://home.netscape.com/download, and they are available in 23 languages.
