Swedish software company SteamServe and both the Bankgirocentralen (BGC) and WM-data have signed collaboration agreements to provide software for electronic invoicing services currently being introduced by banks.
The agreement means that Internet accounts at MeritaNordbanken, ForeningsSparbanken, SEB, Handelsbanken, Skandiabanken and Ostgotabanken will be able to have electronic invoices and payment details delivered directly to them as a result of StreamServe's XML-based products.
Electronic invoicing services enable companies and invoice issuers to be able to deliver invoices electronically and directly to the recipient's Internet bank. The invoices can then be paid by computer. StreamServe technology is the basis for communication between the invoice issuer and the bank's clearing house.
