The McGraw-Hill Cos. (MHC) has launched its own e-bookstore in cooperation with Reciprocal and ContentGuard.

The e-bookstore at http://www.ebooks.mcgraw-hill.com debuted with the release of the MHC book US v Microsoft, with executives of the company hoping to offer more than 250 additional e-books on the site within the next few months.

Only MHC titles will be sold through the website and these will be mainly in the business and general reference areas, although some computer book titles will be offered. The e-books will initially be priced at the same as the print editions, although that may change.

Users with Adobe Acrobat 4.05 can download titles directly from the MHC website on to desktop or laptop computers. The titles are also available in Glassbook, Rocket eBook and PDA formats, although users would have to leave the MHC site to download.
