The US Postal Service sells unclaimed mail packages on the online auction site eBay.
The contents of parcels which have been returned because the recipient has moved and left no forwarding address, and the return address is wrong, end up being sold to the highest bidder and the Postal Service's presence on eBay offers a voyeuristic glimpse into other people's mail.
Some of the more unusual lots have been 33 assorted bras, size 34; and a package of 10 plates, six bowls, four cups, a candle and a mop. Some smaller items are combined with the contents of other packages - for example eBay has recently featured a random collection of 'approximately 212 CDs'.
