Hollywood movie studio Miramax Films has announced plans to show a full-length film online.
On 22 January, the 1999 film 'Guinevere' will be available for download priced at USD3.49 for a 24-hour viewing license. The 500Mb file will take about 30 minutes to download over a high-speed Internet connection, The Associated Press reported.
Miramax Films signed a deal in April 2000 with SightSound.com (http://www.SightSound.com) to offer 12 full-length films on the Internet. The arrangement is reportedly an experiment to see whether consumers are willing to view downloaded films on a pay-per-view basis.
