Virtual Internet becomes authorised UK registrar for '.info'

INTERNET BUSINESS NEWS-(C)1995-2001 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
The UK domain name registrar Virtual Internet Plc has received full authorisation from the registry operator Afilias, making it an accredited registrar for the new '.info' top level domain.
According to Virtual Internet it is the first registrar to be authorised in the UK for '.info', while worldwide it becomes one of about thirty accredited registrars.
'.info' is the first unrestricted top-level domain since '.com' and is to open for business on 25 July with a 30-day period when trademark owners will be able to secure their names.
