The anti-virus software developer Sophos has cautioned computer users to be wary of web sites claiming to offer a video clip of the execution of Timothy McVeigh, the Oklahoma Bomber.

According to Sophos the download file provided by the sites is infected by the Subseven Trojan horse, which if activated allows hackers to take remote control of the computer over the Internet. However, the company does not expect the trojan to cause much damage because most anti-virus software systems should be able to pick it up.

Sophos also notes that this is the first time it has seen such a direct assault on the morbid curiosity of human beings. More information of the Subseven Trojan horse can be found at http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/trojsubseven.html.> ((Comments on this story may be sent to info@m2.com))
