Compaq unveils Compaq Auctions web site

Compaq Computer Corp has launched a new auction web site offering UK customers the opportunity to bid for used or older model Presario desktop and portable computers that have been refurbished.

The auctions, which can be found at http://www.compaq.co.uk/auctions, will typically start on a Monday with bidding closing on the Friday of the same week. An average of 20-30 products will be on auction each week.

Before placing a bid, customers will have to register and submit their credit card details, and they will then be notified by e-mail throughout the week regarding their bidding status including when they are out-bid. When the auction has ended the successful bidder will be notified and contacted by Compaq Service Store to arrange product delivery.

The auctions are only open to British residents.
