Webmergers records a decrease in Internet bankruptcies for February 2002

According to research and services provider Webmergers, 18 US Internet companies either shut down or were declared bankrupt in February 2002.
This figure is reportedly the lowest since August 2000 when just 10 Internet companies folded. Similarly, February's figure brings the total number of shut downs or bankruptcies to 37 since the start of 2002, considerably less than the figure for January and February 2001 of 115.
According to Webmergers a total of 806 Internet companies have folded in the US since the start of January 2000.
