Advertising and marketing services provider Vertis has commissioned a survey that looks at US online purchasing activity.
In total, 39% of US adults claimed to research products online then buy them from traditional stores. This figure varies depending on the type of product to be purchased. For example, 63% of all those purchasing MP3 players researched online then bought traditionally.
Just 10% of all those questioned preferred to research the price and details of an item in a store then buy it online.
The survey was carried out by Marshall Marketing and Communication and was completed by polling 3,000 US adults.
