Messaging, content security and network security software provider GFI has begun offering its LANguard System Integrity Monitor as freeware.
The new offering monitors important system files and sends out an alert to an administrator in the event of a change in status. This is achieved by generating the checksum for important files which, at regular intervals, is checked against the current version of the file.
GFI LANguard System Integrity Monitor is available free of charge from http://www.gfi.com/lansim/index.html.
