New report looks at consumers' online buying habits

According to a recent survey carried out by Retail Forward, more Internet users in the US browsed for holiday gifts yet less actually made a purchase.
The results showed that 88% of US Internet users browsed for holiday gifts online, this figure is up from 78% in 2000. The amount of individuals making a purchase fell to 70% this year as opposed to 74% last year.
The report also indicated that customer satisfaction had risen in the 2001 holiday season with 72% claiming to be satisfied compared to 55% in 2000. Similarly, the amount of shoppers being dissatisfied fell from 42% to 27%.
