Zurich Financial Services launches new online bank with Bank of Scotland

A new online bank has been launched from Zurich Financial Services in conjunction with the Bank of Scotland, part of HBOS.
The launch comes following a trial launch to Zurich's own staff in autumn 2001. The bank has introduced an account that guarantees to pay interest at half a percent below the Bank of England rate for the lifetime of the account.
Zurich Financial Services has reportedly invested GBP90m into the online venture.
