Kolumbus, the Internet services provider subsidiary of Finland's Elisa Communications Corp, has partnered with the Finnish Centre for Health Promotion to launch a new game called Epeli (Lifegame) at the Kolumbus.fi portal site.
The online game, which is available in Finnish, Swedish and English at http://www.epeli.net, allows users to test how different choices affect their own health - from the cradle to the grave - by moving an imaginary figure through a fictitious life. During the game players face situations for which they find solutions in accordance with the given alternatives and at the end they are then given an evaluation of the health effects of their choices.
The Finnish Centre for Health Promotion produced Lifegame in collaboration with the Finnish science centre Heureka. The multimedia company Loop was responsible for the concept and realisation of the game.
