The Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB), an advertising industry organisation, has revealed that online advertising in the UK grew by 7.1% in 2001.
The organisation also found that TV revenues from advertising fell by 11% in the same timeframe. In total, GBP165.7m was spent promoting brands on UK web sites in 2001, up from GBP154.7m in 2000.
This was reportedly caused by advertisers spending money online rather than on TV or newspaper ads, according to the organisation.
