New survey explores US attitudes to permission e-mail marketing

A new report that has been published by Internet analysis company eMarketer is claiming that 52% of Americans instantly delete e-mails from people they do not recognise.
The research also found that 40% of respondents thought that permission e-mail marketing was valuable yet another 40% said that they deleted all mail from permission e-mail marketing companies without reading them. Furthermore, 74% of all those questioned claimed that they suspected companies of sharing their e-mail address with third parties while 69% believed that unsubscribing from a list was futile. Finally, 65% of American e-mail users said that companies sent out e-mail too often and 59% felt that nothing of value was ever sent to them.
