A new survey from e-mail marketing services provider e-Dialog has shown that 55% of US marketers are intending to increase the proportion of their budget that goes into e-mail marketing.

Further results indicated that 48% of all those questioned believed e-mail to be a mainstream marketing vehicle for their company. In 2002, respondents on average claimed to be allocating 24.3% of their budget to e-mail marketing and 25.2% to direct mail. Online advertising spend will reportedly fall from 10.3% in 2001 to 9.9% in 2002.

The survey took into account the responses from 302 US marketers.
