Russian Internet use increasing

The Russian Centre for Internet Technologies has released figures showing that the online population in Russia has almost doubled during 2001.

In total, 18m Russians have used the Internet and 8m of those use it regularly. Most users are centred in Moscow which makes up 57.2% of all the users in the country.

Finally, it was also found that the majority of Internet users are younger than 34 and that 59% of them are male.
