UK-based broadband public Internet access provider Broadreach Networks Ltd and data networking products provider 3Com Corp have joined forces to install a Wi-Fi hotspot at the Edinburgh Festival.

The hotspot is located in the Unwired mobile experience zone that has been set up by chip maker Intel Corp and will let visitors to the festival access the Internet over a high speed connection via a laptop or handheld device.

The Unwired zone can be found by the main stage at the Ross Theatre in Princes Street Gardens and is designed to promote Intel's Centrino mobile technology.

The wireless access will be provided free of charge to festival visitors.
