On Demand Distribution launches music download service

A new service is due to be launched by download technology company On Demand Distribution that will offer Internet users the chance to download music over the Internet for a small charge.
The list of possible downloads will include over 200,000 tracks from 8,500 artists including Eminem, Christina Aguilera, Ms Dynamite and David Gray. The company also claims that new releases will be made available on the same day they are released to radio stations.
Two online music clubs - one from Microsoft and one from Tiscali - are due to run the service.
Singles will be made available for download from GBP0.75 each while albums cost GBP7.99.
