Over 1m copies of Apple's Safari web browser downloaded

Computer hardware and software provider Apple has announced the success of its new Safari web browser following the downloading of more than 1m copies of the free public beta since 7 January 2003.
The Safari browser is claimed to be the fastest ever created for the Mac and features include Google search capabilities integrated directly into the toolbar; 'SnapBack', a new way to instantly snap back up to search results or the top level of any web site after browsing; and a new way to name, organise and present bookmarks.
The Safari public beta is available as a free download at http://www.apple.com/uk/safari. It requires Mac OS X v10.2 and is optimised for Mac OS X v10.2.3. Safari is a 3MB download that occupies 7.1MB of hard drive space.
The final version of the Safari browser will be available later in 2003.
