Web and e-mail filtering company SurfControl has completed a survey showing that one out of every ten UK workers say that they would buy either goods or services from an unsolicited marketing e-mail.

Other results found that almost a third of all those that took part in the survey feel that the issue of spam is being 'blown out of proportion' by the industry.

A spokesperson for the company said that without successful user education spam levels are bound to increase as 11% of users in the UK are happy to purchase products and services sold by the medium of spam.

The survey was conducted in October 2003 and questioned 160 UK white-collar workers.
