OD2 sells 3m songs online in 2003

Online music store OD2 has announced that throughout the course of 2003 Europeans purchased over 3m song downloads from its music site.
The volume of music download sales is growing by 25% each month which has prompted the company to predict a three-fold increase in 2004.
A spokesperson for the company said that the results show that the market is growing fast and that online download sales show that the industry can compete against free file-sharing services.
