A new web site has been launched that is aimed at providing an event reminder service to UK consumers.
The http://www.thedoghouse.co.uk site lets individuals sign up for a date reminder service that notifies the user in advance of any important events that are coming up such as birthdays or anniversaries. The web site will also direct the consumer to a range of online merchants with a number of products for sale that could be used as the gift for the upcoming event.
A spokesperson for the company said that a recent survey has found that the UK 'sorry' market - caused by UK residents buying gifts to apologise for forgetting an important event - could be worth up to GBP12bn.
Users signing up for the service can choose to be reminded by SMS text message to their mobile handsets.
No pricing details were disclosed.
