Microsoft reveals its upcoming music download service

Microsoft Corp has announced that it is preparing to launch an online music store that will enable Internet users to download digital music tracks to their PC.
The music store will be promoted and accessible through the http://www.msn.com web site and will enable users to browse a catalogue of songs and albums. Music downloads can then be acquired and downloaded onto a PC or transferred onto a portable playback device that supports Microsoft's Windows Media audio format.
Microsoft expects to have the online music store up and running some time in the second half of 2004.
No pricing details have been disclosed.
