Internet security company Symantec Corp (Nasdaq: SYMC) has completed a survey and found that seniors are less likely to take inappropriate actions when dealing with spam.

Symantec claims that this cautious online behaviour means that seniors are less likely to be a victim of an e-mail scam. In total, 18% of all Internet users have been victims of online fraud.

The survey was carried out by market research firm Applied Research on behalf of Symantec. A total of 1,000 Internet users were polled aged 18 or older.
