Lufthansa to deploy broadband for its long-haul aircraft fleet

German carrier Lufthansa is to offer its passengers high-speed Internet connectivity in the air from a standard laptop using Wi-Fi.
From next month, passengers travelling long-distance with Lufthansa will be able to get a wireless broadband connection. The carrier is launching a full-scale deployment of the service across its entire fleet of long-haul aircraft after testing the system during 2003.
Lufthansa is said to be the first airline to launch a commercial broadband service for passengers.
