Open source software project, Mozilla Foundation, has revealed that its Firefox Internet browser has been downloaded 25m times since its release in 2004.
The foundation said that the download level proves that consumers are demanding the faster, safer Internet experience that Firefox provides. The browser - which contains features such as built in pop-up blocking and tabbed browsing - has been on release for less than 100 days according to Mozilla.
A spokesperson for the foundation said that 25m downloads is a significant achievement, and it believes that number will continue to grow as it is adopted by the mainstream, and more people discover the user-friendly web browsing solution.
