Google remains the world's number one search engine, while MSN Search's global usage share has increased slightly, according to OneStat.com, an intelligence web analytics provider.
Over the last eight months, Google's global usage share decreased 0.3% but still leads with 56.9%, while Yahoo remains in second place with 21.2%. MSN Search is considered the third largest search engine, with an increase in global usage share from 8.6% to 8.9% and AOL Search is listed in fourth place with 3.2%.
OneStat's research is based on a sample of two million visitors split into 20,000 visitors of 100 countries each day and its figures are an average of the past two months. The company's solution measures traffic from search engines to a website and provides webmasters, marketers and executives with information on what search engines and key words visitors use in order to find a web site.
