Travel publisher Lonely Planet has announced the launch of classified advertisements on its website, at http://www.lonelyplanet.com/classifieds.
> According to the company the new Classifieds section of the website will enable travellers to connect with each other to buy and sell travel-related products, find or advertise rental or share accommodation, find or advertise employment opportunities or meet up with like-minded travellers.Travellers are able to search for products and services via categories, location or keyword and can post classified ads based on the same set of categories.
The company said that during the initial phase posting a classified ad will be free of charge, but as the site grows travellers will have the option of purchasing premium listings.
According to Lonely Planet, Classifieds categories include: flat/house share, items for sale, vehicles for sale, travel companions & shared rides, friends & missed connections and jobs.
