Wiley-Blackwell to offer books online

John Wiley & Sons Inc has announced that Wiley-Blackwell, its scientific, technical, and medical publishing division, is to make 2,000 books available for the first time online, as part of the OnlineBooks collection through Wiley InterScience.

The company said that books from Blackwell Publishing, Wiley-VCH and a range of book series volumes will all be part of the collection, which starts this month.

According to The Book Standard, the new service offers subscribers full text access in PDF format of books, as well as indexes, table of contents and chapter summaries. In addition chapter access can be purchased by non-subscribers via pay-per-view downloads.
