The New York Times Company and Monster Worldwide announce strategic alliance for recruitment

Media company The New York Times Company (NYSE: NYT) and Monster Worldwide Inc (Nasdaq:MNST), an online employment solutions provider, announced on Wednesday (14 February) that the companies have entered into a strategic alliance.

The companies said that the alliance combines the Times Company's news and local websites with Monster's online recruitment expertise and services.

Under the terms of the partnership 19 of the Times Company's newspaper websites, including The New York Times, The Boston Globe, the Worcester Telegram & Gazette and newspapers throughout the southeastern US and California, will co-brand their online recruitment advertising websites with Monster.

The enhanced and expanded New York Times Company-Monster co-branded career sites is expected to provide job seekers and employers with the features and functionality of the Times Company's existing online job sites, combined with Monster's collection of career tools and content.

In addition recruiting professionals are expected to be able to access both local and nationwide job posting capabilities through the Times Company and Monster sites. They will also have access to the resume database of Monster.

The co-branded sites will begin to appear in March 2007.
