Alt-N Technologies, a provider of messaging, security, and collaboration solutions, has announced the latest release of its Windows-based e-mail server, MDaemon 9.6.

According to the company, the new release includes default configurations for the recent Internet Engineering Task Force's (IETF) standard DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) (RFC 4871) e-mail authentication method, the first commercial implementation of Vouch By Reference (VBR) for a free message certification service to MDaemon users, and implementation of Backscatter Protection (BATV protocol) to reduce the problem of receiving non-delivery replies to messages that were never sent by a user.

In addition, MDaemon 9.6 customers will be able to benefit from enhanced e-mail threat protection found in SecurityPlus for MDaemon. Version 3.0.5, scheduled for release later in June 2007, will offer the latest image-based spam fighting technologies, the real-time antivirus features of Outbreak Protection, and support for the Internet Watch Foundation's efforts to expose and classify child pornography and other sites promoting or involved in illegal activities, the company claims.

No pricing details were disclosed.
