Microsoft extends agreement with Trend Micro to cover Windows Live Hotmail

Antivirus and content security firm Trend Micro Inc (TSE: 4704)(NASDAQ: TMIC) announced on Monday (25 June) that its previous agreement with software company Microsoft Corp (Nasdaq:MSFT) has been extended to the successor to MSN Hotmail - Windows Live Hotmail.

Under the terms of the one-year agreement, Trend Micro will continue providing antivirus scanning and cleaning protection to approximately 280m active Windows Live Hotmail and MSN Hotmail e-mail accounts. The company provides users of Windows Live Hotmail with scanning and detection services that provide automatic protection every time e-mail attachments are sent and received.

The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
