Internet Business News,  April 16, 2008

INTERNET BUSINESS NEWS-(C)1995-2008 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

The beta launch of a dedicated web destination in Hong Kong has been announced by global web services company AOL, providing AOL's communications products, including free e-mail and instant messaging with regional content, in Chinese.

AOL said the new site, which can be found at http://www.aol.hk, offers AOL's e-mail service with spam blocking, virus protection and unlimited storage; and the integration of AIM, AOL Instant Messenger, with AOL's e-mail product, enabling users to send e-mails, chat and share pictures, videos and files.

The site also features AOL Search, with Google-powered web and image searched, enhanced by AOL for the Chinese language; video search powered by Truveo.com; and the AOL Toolbar for easy access to AOL services. It also provides channels featuring relevant news, entertainment, finance and technology, with regional content resulting from partnerships with companies such as China News, Phoenix New Media and United Daily News.

According to AOL, it will also be providing an AOL/HP co-branded language portal in the near future, for users of HP desktop and notebook PCs in Hong Kong.
