A new version of the Google Earth desktop client, version 4.3, has been introduced by Internet search engine company Google, advancing the company's aim of providing a realistic, 3D model of the world.
Google said the new version offers a higher quality, more immersive experience, with more realistic, real-world data, giving users more ways to explore and discover the world.
Google Earth 4.3 offers a new navigational experience, allowing users to take better advantage of the program's 3D environment, incorporating a first-person, ground-level perspective often used in video games, extending upon the traditional pan-and-zoom approach used for mapping programs.
In addition, version 4.3 incorporates photo-textured cities and towns and thousands of buildings contributed by users around the world; with Google Maps Street View feature added to allow users to find, discover and plan activities.
Version 4.3 also includes a sunlight feature enabling users to control a time-lapse view of sunlight moving across the earth; while the image acquisition date shows what date an area of imagery was taken.
Google Earth 4.3 is available in 12 new languages, including English (UK), Spanish (Latin American), Portuguese, Danish, Finnish, Hebrew, Norwegian, Indonesian, Romanian, Thai, Turkish and Swedish.
