AOL launches new Australian website

A new website has been launched in Australia by AOL, a global web services company and division of media company Time Warner, offering AOL's suite of communications products, advanced video search, media player and content focused on information and entertainment.
AOL said users of the new site, which can be found at http://www.AOL.com.au, will also gain access to a search engine powered by Google, an Internet search engine.
The AOL Australia website offers free content and services including AOL's e-mail service, with spam blocking, virus protection and unlimited storage; and the full integration of AOL's AIM Instant Messenger with the e-mail product, enabling users to share pictures, videos, files and folders.

The site features the Winamp Media Player with streaming content and remote functionality; AOL Search with enhanced web and image search powered by Google; and the Truveo.com video search engine. It also offers the AOL Toolbar for easy access to AOL services from anywhere on the web; along with channels featuring news, sports and entertainment.
According to AOL, it has a content-supply agreement with Australian online news provider Fairfax Digital and has also partnered with Australian online advertising network Tempest Media.
