Details of the most popular Mobile Web 2.0 destinations of 2007 have been revealed by Verizon Wireless (Verizon), a US wireless voice and data network operator and joint venture of Verizon Communications (NYSE:VZ) and Vodafone (NYSE:VOD) (LSE:VOD.L).

Verizon said Mobile Web 2.0 is a tool available on most handsets which gives its customers access to news, tools and information from content providers, helping users remain connected. It confirmed that 2007's most popular Mobile Web activities among Mobile Web users included checking e-mail and staying up to date on their favourite sports teams.

Verizon said the top Mobile Web destinations for 2007 included 1) Yahoo! Mail, 2) ESPN, 3) MSN Hotmail, 4) AOL Mail, 5) Airdate Friendz, 6) Lavalife Chat, 7) MyVerizon/My Account, 8) CBS Sportsline, 9) LSN Local News and 10) NHL.

According to Verizon, customers on Nationwide Plans are given free access to Mobile Web 2.0 but pay USD1.99 per MB, with data usage cumulative for the month.

Mobile Web 2.0 is available for customers with America's Choice plans for USD5 for monthly access, plus airtime, if bought as a standalone service and is also part of the V CAST VPak, which includes unlimited basic V CAST Video clips and access to ESPN MVP for USD15 per month.
