Critical Path Inc (OTC:CPTH), a provider of messaging software and services, announced on Friday (28 March) that Hutchison Telecommunications (Hong Kong) Ltd, a mobile telecomms service operator in Hong Kong and a subsidiary of Hutchison Telecommunications International Ltd (SEHK:2332) (NYSE:HTX), has deployed Memova Mobile, Critical Path's consumer mobile e-mail solution designed for the mass market.
According to the company, Hutchison Telecom Hong Kong selected Critical Path's solution as a cost-effective way to address the mobile e-mail needs of consumers and SME subscribers, to complement current enterprise e-mail offerings. Unlike enterprise solutions, Memova Mobile works on virtually any mobile phone and does not require users to download or install client software.
In addition, the solution reportedly offers an easily managed inbox, delivering e-mail messages from approved sources only, in this way eliminating mobile spam. The service will be marketed under the '3' Hong Kong brand.
MMS Email is priced at HKD8.00 to HKD58.00 per month including a two month free trial upon sign up.
