PETER SIMON (The Gale Group) - has been named vice president, electronic publishing. Mr. Simon joins The Gale Group from Lexis-Nexis where he was vice president for business development. He is a 23-year veteran of the Reed Elsevier Group, working in key management positions in several of its publishing units, including his most recent position at Lexis-Nexis.

He began at R.R. Bowker as an editor, worked his way up to publisher and business manager of that company in 1996. He was also executive vice president, business development & database publishing of Reed Reference Publishing, where he played pivotal roles in moving not only Bowker, but also Martindale-Hubbell, Marquis Who's Who, and National Register Publishing from print to electronic publishing.
