Management Solution Requires Fewer Administrators

Computer Associates International, Inc. (CA), Islandia, N.Y., has announced that Rockford Corporation , a leading designer, manufacturer and distributor of high-performance audio systems, has selected Unicenter database management solutions to manage the rapid expansion of its Oracle database operations.

Recent strategic acquisitions and organic growth have placed increased stress upon Rockford's IT infrastructure. Rockford's business-critical ERP applications, which require 24 x 7 operation, were at risk because their performance eroded over time as the database underwent numerous updates without being reorganized. Additionally, the database continued to grow while the number of database administrators decreased. As a result, Rockford's staff typically sacrificed their weekends and holidays to export and reorganize database objects.

Rockford chose Unicenter TSreorg for Oracle and Unicenter Fast Unload for Oracle to optimize performance from its databases while enabling its DBA staff to do more administration without investing extra hours.
