Oneworld Customers Report 600% Increase From Fiscal Year 1998 - J.D. Edwards' business application suite on Oracle DBMS - Product Information
Online Product News, Feb, 2000
As more and more companies move business to the Web, they are turning to J.D. Edwards & Company (Nasdaq: JDEC) for agile E-Business applications to run their enterprise operations. Many of these companies, such as H&R Block and Computer Network Technology, rely on solutions from J.D. Edwards and Oracle Corp. to provide a complete E-Business solution, with J.D. Edwards OneWorld(TM) business software powering companies' E-Business operations and Oracle providing the database. J.D. Edwards customers running OneWorld on the Oracle database increased over 600 percent from fiscal year end 1998 to today, a number that is expected to continue to grow, as more companies move to E-Business.
"E-Business is the next generation of enterprise software and fully embodies J.D. Edwards' customer-centric Idea to Action(TM) value proposition," said Michael Schmitt, J.D. Edwards' senior vice president of worldwide sales and marketing. "Without an open and collaborative E-Business solution like J.D. Edwards provides, companies are constrained in their ability to quickly put their ideas into action and capitalize on emerging business opportunities."
J.D. Edwards' OneWorld offers more than 1,000 Internet-enabled business applications to facilitate E-Business, extend global supply chains and manage customer relationships. In November 1998, J.D. Edwards announced support for the Oracle 8i database(TM), an Internet-enabled database for both UNIX and NT platforms. Both J.D. Edwards and Oracle share a common vision that the Internet provides new opportunities to reach customers and extend the corporate enterprise.
"Unlike our competitors, J.D. Edwards has an E-Business solution that is available to companies today," said Schmitt. "The interoperability of OneWorld and other technology solutions, such as J.D. Edwards/xtr@, Ariba(R) ORMS(TM) and Siebel Systems' Siebel Sales Enterprise, gives our customers the most robust solution shipping in the market today. J.D. Edwards' development approach is to offer our customers the most functionally rich solution available today rather than try to internally develop applications that will not be mature for years."
J.D. Edwards recently announced the successful integration between OneWorld and xtr@, Siebel Sales Enterprise and Ariba ORMS applications.
